Do you have those times when you feel SO hungry and just want "stuff your face?" LOL! Well, I sometimes do, and when this feeling arises I always am excited when I remember this dish! This dish has zero oil, no fat and is a healthy plant powered meal, but it mimics a very fattening meal - spaghetti bolognese!
I can't take any credit for this recipe, so I am going to send you straight to the original source, which is the Medical Medium. You can read the recipe here:
However I do want to tell you some of the variations of this recipe that I have done!
I usually use a organic marina sauce and always add garlic and onions that have been sauteed in veggie broth or simply water. I love to load the sauce up with mushrooms as well, to give it that hearty feel, BUT one day I ran out of mushrooms and improvised with peas and fresh spinach and it was AMAZING! It was still hearty and filling and it added an extra sweet taste! See pic below - YUM, right?
Also another cool tip is leaving the spaghetti squash in tact and serving with the sauce on top and it is fantastic! The squash serves as both a bowl and a meal and when you are REALLY hungry like I mentioned before, there is something so satisfying when eating from what seems like a never-ending bowl! Check out the main pic from this blog as that was from the night we tried serving it that way, and it looked so cool and of course tasted great!
So that is it for now, I made spaghetti bolognese again last night and had to share how AWESOME it is, so thank you Medical Medium for sharing it, and I hope you enjoyed these little added tips!
Happy Healthy Eating!
